ABOUT JUSTIN

Justin R. Langan is a 26-year-old nationally recognized Indigenous activist from the community of Swan River, Manitoba. Serving on numerous committees locally and nationally, his accolades include the 2021 Métis Youth Indspire Award and the Terry Fox Humanitarian Award, among others. A political science graduate from the University of Manitoba, Justin is the Executive Director of O’KANATA. He aspires to study human rights law post-graduation, eyeing a future as a lawyer and politician to amplify Canadians' rights on the global stage.

  • Attended and Presented on Digital Sovereignty at ICANN82 as part of the NextGen Fellowship in Seattle, WA.

  • Participated in discussions at the Polar Early Career World Summit in Boulder, CO.

  • Co-Facilitated an Indspire x Jack.org Talk for Indigenous Youth.

MARCH 2025

  • Continued volunteer work with Arctic EU-Youth Dialogue 2025.

  • Travelled to Mexico to consult with Indigenous peoples for the Indigenous Artisan Trade Gateway.

  • Co-Chaired the 2nd Youth-Parliament Nuclear Summit in Ottawa, ON.

FEBRUARY 2025

  • Attended the 2025 World Economic Forum’s Annual Meeting in Davos, Switzerland.

  • Presented my research at Arctic Frontiers 2025 and the Arctic Youth Conference in Tromsø, Norway.

  • Attended a constituency visit with MP Patrick Weiler in West Vancouver - Sunshine Coast - Sea to Sky Country.
